Please note that Spark tokens WILL NOT be sent yet, the Flare network IS NOT LIVE YET. The FLARE TEAMannounced the snapshot date.
Please note that Spark tokens WILL NOT end up in your XUMM because Spark will LIVE ON THE FLARE NETWORK,
while XUMM only supports the XRP Ledger. You CAN set your on ledger XRPL account MessageKey with XUMM,
but it might as well be any other non custodial XRPL client. It's just easier with the sign request flow XUMM offers.
XUMM Sign In
If you want to claim Spark tokens for your XUMM account:
READ/WRITE (with secret) account is required.
Selecting this option will take you to a XUMM Sign In screen to be (QR) scanned / opened with your smartphone.
- or -
Don't use XUMM
If you want to use xrptoolkit.com to claim
Spark tokens using XUMM or a Ledger Nano:
Selecting this option will allow you to continue, and show XRPToolkit instructions during step 5.
Generate ETH compatible account (optional)
If you don't own an ETH compatible account yet, if you are unsure or if you want to create a new ETH compatible account
for privacy reasons, generate a new ETH account using eg.
metamask.io or any trustworthy
If you already have a non custodial ETH-compatible account that looks like 0x415f8315c9948Ad91e2Cce5b8583A36dA431fb61,
generated from a private key, mnemonic (12, 16 or 24 words) or hardware wallet you own and have access to, you can skip this step.
Provide ETH compatible account address
Please enter your ETH compatible account address. A reference to this address will be stored on the XRP Ledger, using
the MessageKey field on your XRP ledger account. This reference will be public.
Your ETH compatible account address
will have to look like: 0x415f8315c9948Ad91e2Cce5b8583A36dA431fb61 (0x and 40 a-f, 0-9 characters).
Note: it doesn't matter if the address is lower case (after generation) or upper case (after the next steps on the XRP ledger).
Confirm account ownership on the XRPL
Your ETH compatible address will now have to be stored in the MessageKey field on the XRP ledger (on your account).
This way Flare Networks can determine the account on the Flare ledger is owned by you (your XRP ledger account).
the token distribution contract knows which XRP ledger account(s) contain(s) the balance(s) to read for Spark token
You signed in using XUMM. When you click the Next button you can sign a transaction to persist
your ETH compatible account address at your account on the XRP ledger.
